Medium has recently revamped its logo, swapping the classic all-black text for a vibrant gradient design. But this change is more than just about aesthetics — there’s a deeper story behind it.

The Magic Behind the Gradient

How did they create this eye-catching effect?

The new logo uses a series of overlapping shapes, each filled with a different colour. These shapes blend seamlessly, creating a smooth transition that’s both visually stunning and harmonious.

  • Black: A subtle nod to Medium’s heritage, anchoring the new design with a sense of continuity.
  • Brown (#603917): A warm, earthy tone that injects depth and stability.
